William Booth famously sent a telegram one Christmas to all his officers. It was just one word:

Others.

On another occasion, Catherine Booth said, “You are not here in the world for yourself. You have been sent here for OTHERS.”

The admonition to serve others describes the Salvation Army’s mission succinctly. This is a beautiful reminder straight from the Founders themselves!
